What made you join SHIP and why?
Firstly, I came from Vietnam to Japan and worked as a medical office worker in the Kansai area. I had been interested in IT since then, so I was doing some research on social media, and I found a job posting for the IT community at SHIP, which is also connected to my home country of Vietnam.
Please tell us about your current work.
As an IT communicator, I act as an intermediary between the client and the Vietnamese development team, summarizing the client's requests in the form of specifications, and providing support through interpretation.
Do you believe that you have grown personally through your work?
The first thing is that I think my Japanese has improved. When I first joined the company, it was a completely new industry and I did not know much about it. However, I feel like I am growing everyday by taking time to study through online courses and by attending client meetings and hearing directly from them. I still make mistakes all the time, so I try to learn everyday. Even in my daily life, I wonder, “How is this website constructed?”.
How is the atmosphere like at SHIP?
I think it’s an environment where it’s easy to express your opinion, but also where your colleagues listen to you. Even when it comes to my private life, if i run into any problems or concerns I talk together with the people and they work with me to come up with solutions.
Finally, what are your current challenges?
As an IT Communicator, I want to do everything I can at this company until I can do my best. I would like to obtain an IT passport or FE(Basic Information Technology Examination) qualification. I am currently studying using books and past exam questions as well.
